Objective To analysis the effects of the locking proximal femoral plate(LPFP) andproximal femoral nail anti-rotation â…¡(PFNA-â…¡) in the treatmentof osteoporoticpertrochanteric fractures.Methods139patients inculded1patient suffered2fracture, who were over60years old and suffered pertrochanteric fractures, were treated with LPFP(71cases) orPFNA-â…¡ (69cases). The operation time, length of incision, intra-operation active bloodloss, complications and postoperative function were recorded and compared.Results139patients with140operations participated in the follow-up,the meanfollow-up period was21.8months. PFNA-â…¡ group showed shorter incision length, lessoperation time, intra-operation active blood loss and complications. The excellence rate ofHarris score of LPFP group was56.5%, and PFNA-â…¡group achieved59.3%.Conclusions PFNA-â…¡ was superior to LPFP in the treatment of osteoporoticpertrochanteric fractures. It offered a low level of intra-operation trauma, less operationtime, intra-operation active blood loss and complications which is worthy of being appliedfor treating osteoporotic pertrochanteric fractures.
