| Objectives To investigate the level of estradiol(E2),testosterone(T),Mullerian inhibiting substance(MIS) in children cryptorchidism and to explore the clinical significance and the role of mechanism in cryptorchidism and provide theoretical and experimental base for clinic. Methods Chemiluminescence immunoassay (CLIA) was used to examine the serum levels of T and E2and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) method to detect serum MIS in70cases of cryptorchidism and35cases of non-urogenital disease as the contrast.70cases of cryptorchidism were divided into two subgroups according having an orchiopexy or not including subgroupA (before orchiopexy), subgroupB(after orchiopexy) respectively. Serum levels of MIS,T and E2were compared between subgroups and control groups. In addition, correlation between MIS and testosterone was also analyzed. Blood samples were taken for analysis. Serums were collected for detection of MIS,E2and T levels. Results Serum E2levels of group B and control group were lower compared with group A and their differences were significant in statistic (P<0.05).Compared to control group, Serum E2levels of group A were higher, and there were significant difference (P<0.05).Compared as that in group B, serum E2level was no change in control group. Serum T,MIS levels of group B and control group were higher compared with Group A and their differences were significant in statistic (P<0.05); Compared to control group. Serum T,MIS levels of group A were lower, and there were significant difference (P<0.05).Compared as that in group B, serum T,MIS levels were no change in control group. In addition, significant positive correlation was found between level of MIS and level of testosterone in subgroup B, while significant negative correlation was found between level of MIS and level of testosterone in subgroups A and control group.ConclusionsSerum levels of MIS, T in patients with cryptorchidism are lower than that in normal children before orchiopexy; after orchiopexy, compared as that in normal children, serum T,MIS levels are no change.Serum levels of E2in patients with cryptorchidism are higher than that in normal children before orchiopexy; after orchiopexy, compared as that in normal children, serum E2level is no change. We can obtain the function of testis in cryptorchidism after orchiopexy by detecting the serum MIS.T, E2levels. |
