1. In this paper, the effect of polysaccharide capsule from fermentation of Phellinus igniarius on various aging indicators of mice treated with D-galactose studied.Compared with model group, P. igniarius polysaccharide capsule could resist immune organs atrophy, enhance the activity of SOD, inhibit the activity of MAO, reduce the content of MDA in serum, liver and brain of aging mice. The high dosage was better than the mid or low group. High does of P. igniarius polysaccharide capsule has remarkable anti-aging effect (P<0.01). The mechanism may be related to improve the ability of removing oxyen free radicals. In addition, The anti-aging effect potency of P. igniarius polysaccharide capsule was dose-dependent, and the effect on serum and liver are much more significant than on brain.2. In this paper, the protection of polysaccharide capsule from fermentation of Phellinus igniarius, against immunological hepatic injury was studied. Immunological liver injury(ILI) was induced by injection of endotoxin, lipopolysaccharide (LPS,7.5μg/0.2ml, i.v.) in Bacille-Calmette-Guerin (BCG,2.5mg/0.2ml, i.v.)-primed mice. The results demonstrated that the abnormal organ indexes were alleviated, the contents of AST and ALT in serum were reduced, the suppressed activity of SOD were activated, the amounts of MDA and NO in liver homogenates were decreased in immunological liver injury models by administration of polysaccharide capsule from fermentation of Phellinus igniarius. Besides, the levels of TNF-a, IFN-y, IL-12and IL-18, which all be secreted by hepatocytes, were well-controlled by administration of SPG in ILI model. The antioxidative activity and the immunoregulation of polysaccharide capsule from fermentation of Phellinus igniarius, could be the the possible mechanisms of against immunological hepatic injury.3. In this paper the acute toxicity on polysaccharide capsule from fermentation of Phellinus igniarius was studied. This study to the male and female both sexes of mice as the research object, the maximum administration dosage test of the polysaccharide capsule from fermentation of Phellinus igniarius. The result show that when the concentration of polysaccharide capsule from fermentation of Phellinus igniarius is20g/kg, mice no death case and did not show toxic effects. This result suggests polysaccharide capsule from fermentation of Phellinus igniarius is the actual non-toxic substances.4. This study investigated the genetic toxicity of polysaccharide capsule from fermentation of Phellinus igniarius, experimental results show that,10g/kg of polysaccharide capsule from fermentation of Phellinus igniarius can not cause the phenomenon of male mice sperm abnormality. This result suggests polysaccharide capsule from fermentation of Phellinus igniarius has no genetic toxicity in germ cell. The micronucleus test results also show that10g/kg of polysaccharide capsule from fermentation of Phellinus igniarius can not increase the micronucleus rate of male and female both sexes of mice. This result suggests there is no genetic toxicity on somatic cell for polysaccharide capsule from fermentation of Phellinus igniarius. The results indicate that polysaccharide capsule from fermentation of Phellinus igniarius has no genetic toxicity.
