Purpose:moxibustion is one of the commonly used clinical treatments, however, moxa smoke produced in the process of moxibustion was found containing some ingredients harmful to human body. The study wants to know how the health condition of the medical staff would be effected by long-term exposure to moxa smoke.Methods:through stratified cluster sampling method on568medical staff in28hospital of Chengdu and questionnaire survey on the medical staff with long-term exposure to moxa smoke and others without exposure to moxa smoke in the proportion of1:1. The data obtained have been analyzed by SPSS17.0statistical software.Results:(1) the general situation:568questionnaires were distributed to two groups,522questionnaires were received, among them263questionnaires were filled by exposure group, the other259questionnaires by non-exposure group. The questionnaires with incomplete data were excluded,258of exposure group and251of non-exposure group were retained. In accordance with the1:1paired comparison,251questionnaires of each group were analyzed finally. A total of502questionnaires. The respective average age of exposure group and the non-exposure group is33.1and33.9. The respective average working hours of exposure group and the non-exposure group is11years and11.5years. Men accounted for45.8%and women accounted for54.2%of the exposed group, while men accounted for42.2%and women accounted for57.8%of non-exposed group. Two groups are comparable in age. working hours and gender.(2) SF-36health questionnaire:among the eight fields of the questionnaire, the scores of BP(body pain), GH (general health), VT (vitality), SF (social function) of exposure group is lower than non-exposure group, the reasons why the sores of VT. SF are lower may be due to the moxa smoke.(3) the classification of constitution in Chinese medicine:compared with the constitution of non-exposure group, the constitution of exposure group have a higher proportion of gentle and a lower proportion of yang deficiency, and the constitution is likely to gradually change to be yin deficiency.(4) the effect on the main system of human body:<1>. The respiratory system and facial features:the conditions of the respiratory system and facial features of exposure groups are much worse than those of the non-exposure group and are getting worse as more contact with moxa smoke.<2>. Skin and other systems:no obvious difference was found between the two groups.Conclusion:medical staff with long-term inhalation of moxa smoke feel more fatigued which may be related to the inhalation of moxa smoke. Long-term inhalation of moxa smoke may have effect on the human body, the respiratory system and facial features, but the effect on the nervous system, skin and cancer haven’t been found in this study. However, further research is still needed to find out the specific impact on all aspects of human. |
