ObjectiveIt is very prominent for vaginitis as a common disease in gynecology tohave problems of high incidence and recurrence,which bring the suffering towomen. In the course of clinical drug treatment,In order to relieve patients painfrom the injection, studies have shown, the administration route by carriersuppository is more convenient, safer and easily accepted by patients etc. Inthis experiment, using animal models of bacterial vaginitis,applyingester-catechins extracted form green tea to producing carrier suppository withester-catechins, through vaginal delivery, to achieve the purpose of preventionor treatment of vaginitis.MethodsNew Zealand big white rabbits were equally assigned to6groups:normalcontrol group,model control group,Fukang carrier suppository group,threegroups of vaginal carrier suppositories with ester-catechins.The bacterialvaginitis model was established by injecting the mixture bacteria ofstaphylococcus aureus and escherichia coli into the vagina of rabbits,the effectof vaginal carrier suppository with ester-catechins on the bacterial vaginitis wasobserved.ResultsAfter local application of vaginal carrier suppository with ester-catechinsfor7consecutive days for treatment of the bacterial vaginitis of rabbits,themedium and high dose of the vaginal carrier suppository with ester-catechinsshowed the same effectiveness as Fukang carrier suppository with curative rateof83.3%.Compared to the model control group,both the medium and high dose of the vaginal carrier suppository with ester-catechins inhibited markedly growthof staphylococcus aureus and escherichia coli.ConclusionThe vaginal carrier suppository with ester-catechins showed remarkabletherapeutic efficacy for the bacterial vaginitis of rabbits.
