Objective:To study the relationship between the expression of Survivin, nm23-hl protein and lymph node metastasis(LNM) in human colorectal carcinoma and cancer adjacent tissues. Methods:The expression of Survivin, nm23-H1protein was examined in66cases of colorectal cancer and15cases of adjacent tissues using immunohistochimical S-P method, and analyzed its relationship with clinicopathological features. Results:In colorectal carcinoma and adjacent tissues, Survivin positive rates were75.7%,26.7%,and there was significant difference (χ2=13.255P=0.000);nm23-H1positive rates were62.1%,93.3%, was statistically significant (χ2=4.125P=0.042), and the differences were statistically significant(x2=4.125P=0.042). Survivin protein expression was related with tumor differentiation, LNM, liver metastasis, Dukes stage (P<0.05). The expression of nm23-h1protein was related with LNM, liver metastasis, Dukes stage (P<0.01). Survivin protein positive expression had positive correlation with the LNM (r=0.247P=0.046), nm23-H1protein expression had negative correlation with the LNM (r=-0.359P=0.003). The negative correlation was found between Survivin and nm23-H1expression (r=-0.296,P=0.016).Conclusions:The anti-apoptosis effect of Survivin protein and the anti-metastasis effect of nm23-H1protein may be important in the occurrence and advancement of colorectal carcinoma, and it may be an important prognostic indicator to determine Lymph node metastatic potential and prognosis in human colorectal carcinoma usingjoint detection between Survivin and nm23-H1.
