Efficiently working of CSSD can control diffusion of pollutant furthest, reduces hospital infection rates. Package is the sterile barrier systems, It is the packaging containers, packaging materials, equipment protection materials and operate collectively,be used for protect the sterile, convenience store, and clinical trials in the process of reuse medical equipment and goods in hospital. It is over a period that sterile from the end of sterilization program to patients, during this period, packages for maintaining aseptic condition plays a crucial role. Packaging materials are any materials for building or sealing closure systems. With the development of disinfection technologies, packaging materials are increasingly a variety. A large numbers of new materials used in package medical instruments widely at present. There is a big difference in specifications and costs between types of materials. Sterilization and storage failures are often occurs due to improper selection and using in practice. Therefore, increased risks of hospital infection management,infection control costs and reduced clinical safety. Medical paper package is a new disposable material. Is being recognized and applied clinical widely. Finding out the resistance strain effect and properties in the use of new materials can save costs more, improve effect of sterilization, extend sterile shelf life by selecting the right packaging materials, and provide more security effectively sterile for clinical,reduce the costs and nosocomial infection risks.ObjectiveThe purpose of this study is comparing adaptabilities of sterilization, resistance strain effect,the costs of clinical and other aspects of the three package materials,medical paper package, medical plastic-paper package and non-woven sheet,finding out differences in all aspects of practical.and common questions and approaches in using. Provide the recommending basis for medical institutions in selection of packaging materials correctly, saving costs and improving the quality of sterilization.Methods1. The test packags:Using450dressing packs as experiment packs which be divided into three groups, it is150dressing packs in every group. Individual packaged150test packs of the three groups with medical paper bags,paper-plastic bags and non-woven sheets.2. comparsion adaptabilities of sterilization:Sterilized all450test packs(GETINGE GE2917sterilizer, Sterilization temperature134℃-135℃, Pressure205.8KPa, Sterilization time:7minutes).Checked wether1222chemical indicator strips turned black of the450test packs.checked out the results of the rapid readout biological indicator, statistics sterilization pass rate. Check the cases of cracks,material damages and wet packs after sterilization of the three groups.and by that, evaluation sterilization adaptability of the three packaging materials.3. Comparison of resistance strain effects and sterile shelf life:Random take36test packs from the3groups and Bacterial culture4test pack in the day of sterilized, in the day of7thã€14thã€30thã€60thã€90thã€120thã€180thã€360th after sterilization. Compared the resistance strain effects and sterile shelf life of the three kinds of materials.4. Compared the costs:Analyzed and comparde costs of tests package with three kinds of packaging materials, including the costs of packaging materials, labor costs. and the costs in clinical using.5. Date analysis:With the input data analysis software package SPSS13.0. Packaging material costs, labor costs, packaging costs of actual clinical use to mean statistical description. Package number of corruption cases, cases of wet bags, statistical analysis using the x2test.Results1.Adaptability of sterilization:450test packs all passed sterilization process, Physical parameters and chemical indicators strips discolored are all passed. Wet bags, sealing cracks and damages on the surface:After sterilization,all150medical paper packages are no wet and no seal cracks case, surface damage1case; there are16cases of wet Pack,2cases of sealing cracks and1case of surface damage in150medical plastic packages after sterilization; there are18cases of wet Pack,24cases of sealing cracks and none surface damage in150medical non-woven sheet packages after sterilization; Medical paper package bag is better than the other two materials in adaptability of sterilization.2. Resistance strain effects:In storage period of90days after sterilization, bacterial culture results of three kinds of materials test packs are all negative, there is 1positive bacterial culture results of Medical paper test packs in the storage period of120th day.2positive results in the180th day.and1positive results in the360th day; there is none positive bacterial culture results of medical paper-plastic test packs in the storage period of180th day, and1positive results in the360th day; there is none positive bacterial culture results of medical non-woven sheet test packs in the whole storage period of360days. Results display that, the sterile shelf life of packs with medical paper packaged can extended from1month to3months.3. cost comparisons:the differences of test packs cost with single sterilization are main from the variance costs of the three kinds of packaging materials. A test pack’s price is4.9yuan packaged with20cm×33cm×6cm medical paper bag,5.1yuan with25cm×33cm paper-plastic bag, and6yuan with50cm×50cm non-woven sheet. Respectively,1,19,23test packs packaged with medical paper bag, paper-plastic bags and non-woven sheets required repeated treatment after sterilization, because of wet bags, sealing cracks and surface damages. After repeated treatment, cost of growth about the three test packs is0.03yuan,0.62yuan and0.92yuan respectively. The costs of using medical paper-plastic bags and non woven sheets are higer than medical paper bags in significantly. Each group’s150test packs is divided into5batches, each batch30test packs. To packaged30test packs with medical paper bags costed15’48" averagely:packaged30test packs with medical paper-plastic bags costed15’59" averagely; packaged30test packs with medical non-woven sheets costed24’57" averagely. Packaged with medical non-woven sheets costs much more time significantly than with the other two types of packaging materials.Conclusions1. Medical paper bag is better than medical plastic bag and non-woven sheet in adaptability of sterilization. Medical paper bag has good adaptability of sterilization, packaged quickly and easily. It’s better than medical paper-plastic bag and non-woven sheet in avoiding wet and prevention of sealing crack. The test packs packaged with medical non-woven sheet occurs wet more easily after sterilization and difficult to be checked out. Main reasons for these are water resistance of non-woven sheet preventing condensation water, and the material is opaque, the water in packs can neither be found by observation nor by touching.2. Medical paper bag has good resistance strain effect. The sterile shelf life of packs with medical paper packaged can extended from1month to3months. The resistance strain effect of three kinds of materials are all well. This study shows that the three kinds of materials are safe and effective to block bacterial in a certain storage conditions.All three kinds of material’s sterile shelf life meets the requirements of WS310’s standards. The sterile shelf life of packs with medical paper packaged can extended from1month to3months.3. Packaged with paper medical bags costs less than with medical paper-plastic bags and non-woven sheets in clinical. Packaged with medical paper bags and paper-plastic bags may reduce the workload in terms of cleaning and transporting, and can simplify working procedures, reduce labor costs, improve work efficiency. After repeated treatment, cost of growth about the three test packs is0.03yuan,0.62yuan and0.92yuan respectively. The costs of using medical paper-plastic bags and non woven sheets are higer than medical paper bags in significantly. In addition, packaged with medical paper bags and paper-plastic bags labor costs significantly lower than non-woven sheet.Hopes for he results and information from this study can provide the recommending basis for medical institutions in selection of packaging materials correctly, to save costs,improve the quality of sterilization and reduce risk of nosocomial infection. |
