Objective:To observe hemodynamic parameters and Bispetral index (BIS) of children anesthetized by different doses of etomidate during anesthesia induction and tracheal intubation and to investigate the suitable dose of etomidate for children with fewer hemodynamic bariations during anesthesia induction and tracheal intubation.Mthods:Fourty children (4-12years)were involved and randomly assigned to4groups according to the dose of etomidate they received:group A (0.3mg/kg), group B (0.4mg/kg), group C (0.5mg/kg), group D (0.6mg/kg). Tracheal intubation wai facilitated by0.01mg/kg midazolam,2μg/kg remifentanil, different dose of etomidate and0.2-0.3mg/kg Cisatracurium besylate sequently. Mean blood pressure (MAP), heart rate (HR), BIS were monitored and recorded during the procedure of anesthesia inuction and tracheal intubation. The observation was ended5minutes after tracheal intubation.Result:There was no demographic differences between groups. BIS of the four groups were comparable before anesthesia and after administered with different dose of etomidate,BIS of group A and group D were higher and lower than other groups respectively over the rest (T3-T5) of the observation (P<0.05).HR of group A time T2was higher than other time(P<0.05).Conclusion:Etomidate0.2-0.5mg/kg can bring adequate depth of sedation in children.Group B (etomidate0.4mg/kg)and group C (etomidate0.5mg/kg) with1-2μg/kg remifentanil showed more stable hemodynamics compared with other groups in children who undergo anesthesia induction and tracheal intubation.
