TIitle:The clinical observation study of preoperative concurrent chemoradiotherapy for increase the rate of surgical resection stage â…¡B-â…¢A cervical cancer. Objective:This study observed the effects of surgery and side effects of preoperative concurrent chemoradiotherapy for cervical cancer patients of FIGO stage â…¡B-â…¢A.Materials and Methods:From January2008to September2011. forty-one cervical cancer patients were enrolled in this study which included23cases of â…¡B and18cases of â…¢A. Patients were randomized divided into experimental group and control group. Twenty patients of experimental group received preoperative three-dimensional conformal radiotherapy plus concurrent chemotherapy (cisplatin30-40mg/m2/week) and twenty-one patients of control group received preoperative interventional chemotherapy alone which chose the uterine artery and the tumor feeding artery using the Seldinger technique of the right femoral artery under local anesthesia. The evaluations were made after four weeks of the treatment to compare degree of tumor regression, reappraise the possibility of surgery and observe side effects. Results:According to response evaluation criteria in solid tumors (RECIST), CR and PR as valid, SD and PD as invalid. The effective rate of experimental group and control group was85%and52%separately. There was a significant statistical difference between the two groups (P<0.05). Surgical resection rate of experimental group and control group was70%(14/20) and43%(9/21) separately and there was a significant statistical difference (P<0.05). Conclusion:Preoperative concurrent chemoradiotherapy can make stage down and increase the rate of surgical resection for cervical cancer of FIGO stage â…¡B â…¢A.It dose not increase its recent toxicity and difficulty of operation. |
