Backgroud: In the surgery treatment of lumbar spinal stenosis, the traditional rigidfixation can guarantee the stability of the spine. But due to stress shielding causes series ofclinical problems. Non-fusional dynamic stabilization can not ensure the stability of thespine. Therefore,we need to find new treatment methods and new materials. Objective: Contrast the therapeutic effect of PEEK and titanium pedicle fixationsystem combined with interbody fusion in the treatment of lumbar spinal stenosis, providing reference for clinical work.Materials and methods:Collected60cases who acceptted the operation treatmentof decompression, interbody fusion and internal fixation from August2010to April2011,Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital.Strictly follow-upthem.There were29males,31females, average age55.3years. They were randomlydivided into two groups, the test set for the A group, the control group as group B. Contrastbone graft fusion and lumbar function of the two groups of patients after their operations.Results:4weeks,12weeks and24weeks after lumbar operation, we examined bonegraft fusion of the two groups of patients through operation area x-ray, it showed thatgroup A was better than group B.Through Oswestry disability index, the two groups hadno significant differences in lumbar function. Conclusion:The application of PEEK material pedicle fixation system ensures thestability of the lumbar spine,at the same time, through the flexible micro displacement offixed vertebral body and intervertebral bone, it is going to promote the fusion of bone. Inaddition, because of the load share increasing, the effect of stress shielding iscorrespondingly small. Thereby it can reduce the probility of osteoporosis and boneatrophy in fixation segment. It also can reduce adjacent segment disc or facet jointdegeneration. Preventing complications such as nails and rods cracking caused by stress concentrated. To create an ideal mechanical environment for the fixed segment and theadjacent segment. |
