As research of earlier stage has been sufficient, it’s necessary to do specialized research on pictures from books of Chinese Traumatology for the academic value. Lucky to study from Mr. Hu during my postgraduate career, I managed the sub subject research (the study on pictures from ancient books of Chinese traumatology with arrangement).Objective:Discuss the academic value of pictures from ancient books of Chinese Traumatology and relation with academic inheritance of Chinese Traumatology.Methods:To apply basic methods of literature such as catalogue, versions, collation, interpretation and discrimination, etc. With the range of ancient books of Chinese Traumatology (before1911) recorded by Chinese medicine overall ancient books, to collect pictures from ancient books of Chinese Traumatology systemically, arrange and classify such pictures preliminarily for basic data, contrast with content and use of kinds of pictures, analyze the pictures and corresponding characters and differentiate inheritance sequence of pictures of kinds and academic character and value of characteristic pictures for preliminary discussion on value and relation between pictures and academic inheritance of such pictures and analysis of their role in academic inheritance.Results:To arrange pictures of ancient books of Chinese Traumatology and collect777pictures with10kinds according to content and use. Pictures of ancient books of Chinese Traumatology with variant variety contain contents of theory and therapy. Some pictures took example by others from other sub subject of TCM and some exclusively in Chinese Traumatology reflect its academic characteristic. Some inheritance exists among some pictures or they have relevant literature origin. Characteristic pictures loading exclusive and important academic content have an irreplaceable role in inheritance and development of Chinese Traumatology.Conclusions:Pictures from ancient books of Chinese Traumatology as a loading style, with intuitive and visualized superiority is important supplements and extensions of character recording and constitute of academic inheritance of Chinese Traumatology. Their special role in record, inheritance and development of Chinese Traumatology is just their academic value.
