Objective: To observe the clinical effect of external application of Chinese medicineherbs on Taichong point treating primary hypertension and explore its mechanism ofaction.Methods: According to the case inclusion criteria, we selected60patients withprimary hypertension, and then randomly divided them into two groups: the test group andthe control group. The30patients in treatment group,were given external application ofChinese medicine herbs treatment and routine western medicine treatment.The30patientsin control group,were given external application of placebo treatment and routine westernmedicine treatment.Observe the clinical symptoms, signs and blood pressure changesbefore and after treatment of the two groups patients.Results: After4weeks treatment, the total therapeutic effects on syndromes of TCMfor the test group obviously surpassed the control group (P <0.05); The analysis oftherapeutic effects on individual syndromes of TCM showed that: the test group in thevertigo, insomnia, mouth bitter, yellow urine4clinical symptoms improved significantlybetter than the control group (P <0.05); The antihypertensive effects on the test group wassignificantly better than the control group (P <0.05).Conclusion: For liver yang hyperactivity type of primary hypertension, externalapplication of Chinese medicine herbs on Taichong point had significant effects inimproving the clinical symptoms and reducing blooding pressure.
