Objective:To analyze the influencing factors for hypoparathyroidism post thyroidectomy. Methods:The clinical data of174patients of October2011to January undergoing thyroidectomy. Check serum calcium before thyroidectomy, and parathyroid is not routinely revealed in the surgery. Review the serum calcium and PTH after the surgery, and the influencing ones were identified with Logistic regression. Results:There are49cases of postoperative hypocalcemia in174patients,33cases of hypoparathyroidism and6cases of permanent hypoparathyroidism. The risk factors for postoperative hypoparathyroidism are surgical procedures, and surgical procedure4(P=0.026), surgical procedure5(P=0.001) and postoperative hypoparathyroidism was significantly associated. Gender, age, benign and malignant are not significantly associated with hypoparathyroidism. Conclusions:The indications for thyroidectomy should be properly handled because of the high incidence of hypoparathyroidism. Surgical procedures, especially the surgical procedure4and5are risk factors for hypoparathyroidism. calcium should be routinely supplemented for patients with high risk factors and PTH and serum calcium level should be measured after thyroidectomy. The treatment policy should be modulated according to the level of PTH and serum calcium. Follow-up is recommended for patients with transient hypoparathyroidism. |
