ObjectiveTo evaluate the value of the Beside Index for Severity in Acute Pancreatitis (BISAP) in diagnosing the severity and prognosis of acute pancreatitis.MethodsRetrospective analysis of clinical data of200patients with acute pancreatitis admitted to our hospital from December2009to March2011, Respectively carried the Ranson scoring, APACHE II scoring, the CTSI scoring, and BISAP scoring. BISAP scoring system included the blood urea nitrogen, impaired mental status, systemic inflammatory response syndrome, age, and pleural effusion. The diagnosis criteria of severe acute pancreatitis were BIASP3points or APACHE-Ⅱ≥8points, Ranson≥3points, CTSⅠ≥3points. Analysis BISAP scoring system on the assessed the value of the severity and prognosis of acute pancreatitis.ResultIn177cases of acute pancreatitis patients, including97cases of patients with mild acute pancreatitis,87cases of patients with severe acute pancreatitis; Four scoring criteria of MAP and SAP patients’scores (mean±standard deviation) differences were statistically significant.(P<0.001); Scores of the four scoring criteria were significant correlation with hospitalization days and fasting days of patients; Area under the receiver operator characteristic curve of the four scoring systems show that:APACHE-Ⅱ scoring criteria in a competitive advantage on the assessment of severity of the acute pancreatitis and systemic complications, The AUC of the APACHE-Ⅱ scoring system in predicting the severity of acute pancreatitis and systemic complications respectively0.822,0.909, differences were statistical significant compared with the other three scoring criteria.(P<0.05), Ranson scores>4points in an advantage in predicting the occurrence of local complications of acute pancreatitis; BISAP scoring system can predict the severity of acute pancreatitis and prognosis, When BISAP scoring system≥3points, it’s more sensitive in predicting death outcome of patients with acute pancreatitis than other scoring criteria.ConclusionAs a new, simple scoring system, BISAP rating system can assess the risk of early death in patients, will be expected to be widely used in clinical.
