Sponge is a low multi-cellular marine animal, which surface and body gatheringa large number of microorganisms. Previous research indicated that thesponge-associated microorganisms can produce a large number of novel chemicalstructural and diverse secondary metabolites with a wide range of activity, which areexpected to be developed some important new drug lead compounds. The method DAD-HPLC combined with proton NMR fingerprinting was used tosearch for new secondary metabolites from a sponge-associated fungus, Stachybotryssp.WGC-25C-6, collected from Beibu Gulf, Guangxi of China. Fungal cluture wasextracted with ethyl acetate for three times after incubated on the rice seawatermedium for some days. Furthermore,a series of separation methods with TLC, silicagel column chromatography, gel column chromatography and semi-preparativereversed-phase high performance liquid chromatography were employed to obtainpure compounds in the study. As a result of our research, seven new compounds wereseparated, purified and identified from the fungus extract crude using UV, HERSI-MS,1H-NMR,13C-NMR, APT and2D-NMR spectroscopy, combined with the physicaland chemical properties of these compounds. This research provides some guide significance for further development andapplication of sponge symbiotic microbial resources.
