Objective: Exploring the self-efficacy intervention on the self-efficacy of maintenancehemodialysis patients, the ability of self-care, blood biochemical parameters, blood pressureand IWGR%, the anxiety and depression, providing the theoretical and practical guidance onimproving the self-care of maintenance hemodialysis patients. Therefore to improve thequality of life in patients and enhance the quality of serving patients. Methods: Maintenance hemodialysis patients were selected from the dialysis centers inthe first hospital of Jilin university as the research object. The number of patients issixty-eight. The selection criteria:①the age is above18years old;②the time of havinghemodialysis is above3months;③having hemodialysis at least2times every week, andproviding for oneself;④having certain understanding ability, understandinging andanswering questionnaire correctly;⑤participating in this research voluntarily. Theexclusion criteria:①having history of mental illness;②having other serious somaticdisease;③have severe communication disorders, understanding and answering correctly. The patients were randomly divided into two groups, the intervention group is thirty-fourcases and the control group is thirty-four cases. The intervention group was lost three cases, including two deaths, one case which were transferred to other hospital, so a total of thepatients is thirty-one; the control group was lost five cases, including two deaths, three caseswere transferred to other hospital, so a total of the patients is twenty-nine.The control group receive the conventional hemodialysis care; the intervention groupreceive self-efficacy intervention of6months. The main content of self-efficacyintervention:①using personal guidance, group education and collective education to carryout health education, including the basic knowledge of end-stage renal disease, the purposeand significance of hemodialysis, the nutritional care, the medication care, sports care andblood pathways care;②formulating the scientific and rational goal for patients;③psychological guidance;④giving patients support. The chronic disease self-efficacy scale, self-care ability scale, the related laboratorytests, blood pressure and IWGR%, the hospital anxiety and depression scale as evaluationtool. The patients data was collected at the beginning and after the intervention. The data was input into the computer. The data was analyzed using SPSS17.0software. Generalinformation were using descriptive analysis, the count data were analyzed with the χ2test,the measurement data were analysed with t-test.Results:①The statistical results of general information show that the two groups ingender, age, education level, monthly income, hemodialysis duration is not statisticallysignificant (P>0.05).②After the intervention, the self-efficacy scores of intervention group is obviouslyimproved comparing to the control group, and the results are statistically significant (P<0.05).③After the intervention, the self-care ability score of the intervention group isimproved significantly compared with the control group, and the results are statisticallysignificant (P <0.05). The self-care concept, self-care responsibility, self-care knowledge andself-care skills score of the intervention group have higher score than the control group, which are statistically significant (P <0.05).④After the intervention, the value of blood K, Na, BUN of the intervention group issignificantly lower compared to the control group, and the results are statistically significant(P <0.05); the value of ALB and Hb were higher both in two groups, but the interventiongroup was higher than the control group, and the results are statistically significant (P <0.05).After the intervention, the difference of P and Ca between the two groups is no statisticallysignificant (P>0.05).⑤After the intervention, the systolic pressure and IWGR%of the intervention groupis significantly decreased compared with the control group, and the results are statisticallysignificant (P <0.05); the diastolic blood pressure of the intervention group is decreasedthan the control group, but the results are not statistically significant (P>0.05).⑥After the intervention, the anxiety and depression scores of the intervention group isdecreased compared with the control group, and the results are statistically significant (P<0.05).⑦After the intervention, the self-efficacy scores, the self-care ability score, theanxiety and depression scores, the value of ALB, Hb, and Ca are improved compared withthe beginning of the intervention, and the results are statistically significant (P <0.05); thevalue of blood K, Na, BUN, P, the blood pressure and IWGR%are decreased compared withthe beginning of the intervention, and the results are statistically significant (P <0.05). Conclusion: Self-efficacy intervention can improve the self-efficacy levels, decreaseblood K, Na, BUN, improve the value of blood ALB and Hb, the blood pressure andIWGR%, improve the patient’s mental state, improve the self-care ability, strengthen theresponsibility of their own care, improve nursing knowledge and skills, thereby improve thequality of life in maintenance hemodialysis patients.
