Human knee joint is the most important body part and the multiple lesions part. Generalseverely damaged knee is treated with total knee arthroplasty.In recent years, total kneereplacement have been well development .But total knee applications currently are based onEuropean and American standards improvement of knee joint on the market.There are greatdifferences with Europe and the human body. This leads most replacement of bone tissue nearthe knee joint in patients cannot be a good match with knee joint and this can causepostoperative complications easily.So, the research of personalized knee prosthesis is theurgent need.The research of personalized knee prosthesis relate to more subject areas, such as jointsurgery, biomechanics, image processing, surface reconstruction, CAD technology and so on.This article is mainly used reverse engineering and rapid prototyping for the personalizeddesign of artificial knee joint. Main content are as follows:1.Introduced the research status of the artificial knee joint. Aanalyse the problem theartificial knee joint still exist .Bring up the necessity to develope the personalized artificialknee joint research. Introduced the process of Reverse Engineering and Rapid Prototyping,Introduced the application of combination.2.Introduced anatomical structure and movement characteristics of human knee joint indetail. According to this, bring up design theory of the personalized artificial knee joint.Introduced design cycle in detail.3.Introduced the modeling method for the personalized artificial knee joint. Firstly, Forpatients with CT scan, get scanning images. Processing scanning images with Mimicssoftware. Get 3 d point cloud data pieces of patients knee.Secondly, import the point clouddata into Geomagic software. Measure the relevant dimensions of the entity model. Comparethese dimensions and the statistical dimensions of standard artificial knee joint. Finally,Customize the personalized artificial knee joint prosthesis. Osteotomy and assemblingindividual artificial knee joint4.Introduced the application of the finite element analysis in biological mechanics.Introduced the steps of the personalized artificial knee contact analysis in detail.Got contactstress distribution. Evaluate the result.5.Introduced how to establish the modle of human kinetics in detail. Analyse theestablished modle and evaluate the result.6.Introduced the principle of rapid prototyping.
