Background and Purpose:Androgenetic alopecia (AGA) is the most common type of hair loss in men. This continuous process results in a type of alopecia that follows a definite pattern in those individuals who are genetically predisposed. The prevalence of progressive AGA approaches50%of Caucasian men beyond the age of40years, whereas in Asian, native American and African-American men the prevalence is lower and AGA is less severe. Two US Food and Drug Administration-approved pharmacotherapies-inoxidil and finasteride-re available for treatment of male pattern baldness. However, there are some adverse event including irritant contact dermatitis and sexual function, such as decreased libido, erectile dysfunction and ejaculatory disorders. Hair transplant is expensive and unnatural. So the modern medical treatment methods have some limitations. Professor Zhu Qijie has his own unique perspective and received a good clinical effect in treatment of AGA based on combined the ancients treatment experience and his own decades of clinical experience in traditional Chinese medicine. These valuable experience exist on the patient’s medical records in his usual treatment and papers. By collecting and sorting these medical records, combined with the medical statistics, we summarize the clinical experience of professor Zhu, which found the laws and improve the efficacy in treatment of AGA with traditional Chinese medicine.Methods:Through three years of clinical with the tumor, collected245cases met the inclusion criteria of AGA, use the weka data mining software for cluster analysis and correlation analysis, summarize the Drug law of professor Zhu in treating AGA. By frequency analysis, correlation analysis and cluster analysis, drawn the core drug of professor Zhu in treating AGA is:ligustrum lucidum, wolfberry, radix, astragalus, dodder, mistletoe, red sage root, pseudo-ginseng, seven cows, epimedium, eclipta prostrata, rehmannia, licorice, schisandra chinensis, ophiopogon, biota orientalis.2. The study collected245cases of medical data.156kinds of drug can be divided into17categories in all prescription, with frequency up to209times. The average flavor number of each prescription that contains the drug was10.0taste3. Professor Zhu mainly discriminate AGA as kidney weakness and blood stasis. The disease located in the renal.
