Analysis Of Training Ability And Need For High Level Medical Talents In Gansu Province

Medical work is related to people’s life and health. Medical sciences are different from other subjects. Because of it’s particularity the training of medical talents is also unusual. Because medical talents’ personal skill is prominent their education period is very long, While medical postgraduate education is the main source of high level medical talents. So postgraduate education scale and ability stand for the high level medical talents’ foster ability. Especially in west behind provinces such as Gansu province it is hard to bring in excellent high level medical talents by geographic advantage. It expands it’s medical team only by it’s own training to enhance medical research and education in order to improve the whole province’s physical constitution.This paper studied medical postgraduate education in Gansu province from the year2005to2010and analyzed the education and supply ability according to several aspects including training scale, type, quality, professional structure, matriculate structure and employment situation. Based on the data of the number of medical postgraduates and the number of existing human health resource in Gansu province, ARIMA model, GM(1,1) model and regression model are used to forecast the supply and demand of the health workforce in the year2011-2020. The results show the demand of medical postgraduates especially medical doctors in the coming ten years will be huge. Therefore, a twenty percent increase in number of entrants of postgraduate can be expected to satisfy the need.Medical postgraduate student education is related to the whole health development, so it should be paid more attention to expand student enrollment and attract excellent students to improve student structure and the students’ quality. So, some measures such as reforming and innovating the training mode and training method of postgraduate, increasing the education financial investment, broadening postgraduate employment information access, and improving the quality of postgraduate student training will be important and pressing tasks.
