Transdermal drug delivery is a mean that patching the drug on the outer surface of the skin, relying on natural spread of drug through the skin or enhanced diffusion into the subcutaneous capillaries to enter the systemic circulation. This is a non-invasive drug delivery which can avoid the drug be damaged by the destruction of digestive enzymes and acid environment, also can avoid the liver’s first pass and improve the bioavailability of drugs. However, the stratum corneum of the skin barrier hinders the effective implementation of this method. Therefore we need to rely on some physical and chemical methods to enhance the percutaneous penetration of drugs. The current penetration techniques include chemical penetration enhancers, liposomes, iontophoresis, ultrasound import, micro-needle technology, electroporation, light pressure wave technology and so on. This paper studied the effect of electromagnetic technology to transdermal Metoprolol Tartaric Acid, analysis the law of the pulse voltage and the pulse energy to percutaneous penetration of Metoprolol Tartaric Acid, to provide some evidences for the clinical application of transdermal delivery of antihypertensive drugs1. Compared with the control-group, the Electromagnetic Fields can effectively enhance the permeation of Metoprold Tartaric Acid. After a certain delay time of the Electromagnetic pulses ended, the drugs’permeation would reach the maximum. The drugs’permeation rate would show a " roachback " phenomenon under the Electromagnetic pulses’energy was8J. But it was different under the3.5J, The drugs’permeation rate would show a saturation phenomenon.2. The analysis of date statistics showed a greater variation degree due to the animal individual differences. By using the network thermodynamics model, we can improve the confidence of the drug’ permeation through the skin with separating the time characteristic parameters and amplitude characteristic parameters.3. The results showed that, the permeation of drugs can reach the similar level even the same level under the different pulse voltage but the same energy. It indicated that the energy of the Electromagnetic Fields is the key Electrical parameter.
