| ObjectiveBasing on the theory of four-layer structure of the femoral insertions ofposterior cruciate ligament:fiber bundles, uncalcified fibrocartilage(UF), calcifiedcartilage layer (calcified fibrocartilage, CF), subchondral bone), to prepare the serialsections of the femoral insertions of posterior cruciate ligament, and establish avisible virtual model by using the3D reconstruction software, and to provide areference for experimental and clinical surgery reconstruction.MethodsDissect the PCL,and review the structure of PCL and surroundingstructure. The femoral insertions of posterior cruciate ligament(PCL) were serially sectionedand underwent HE staining, the serial section preparation images were taken bydigital camera and processed, the three-dimensional model of the femoral insertionsof PCL was reconstructed and simply applied using the3D reconstruction software.Results1.There are two areas of UF and CF thickening in the femoralinsertions of PCL. The posterior cruciate ligament of the femur attachment ishalf-moon distribution.2.A digital image dataset of40times magnified human PCLmicrostructure was obtained. The primary visible the femoral insertions of PCLmodel was successfully reconstructed with3D reconstruction software. The digitalmodel possessed nice visible character. The three-dimensional reconstruction of thePCL images demonstrated the anatomy of human insertions of PCL transparentlyand objectively. Conclusions1.The method of3D models reconstruct from serial histologicalsections of the femoral insertions of PCL is feasible.2.There are two areas of UF and CF thickening in the femoralinsertions of PCL. |
