Carbon dioxide is a very important gas. At present, the density of it is increasing for burning of mineral fuel and destruction of forests, which leads to the global becoming warmer. The forests can clean air and regularize carbon. It is very important for people to rationally develop and protect forests. Thus, greenhouse gases will be lessen. Mazongling Natural Conservation Zone is located in the northern of Dabie Moutains. And Dabie moutains is situated the eastern of Qinling moutains. Qinling Mountain is Chinese geography line, which belongs to ecologically sensitive areas. Estimating forest soil carbon storage accurately is not significant for studying the regional carbon cycle and forest carbon sinks, but also for providing the evidence to rational use forest resources. The paper studied soil organic content of0~100cm layers, and studied the factors that affect the organic carbon content. The main results can be listed as follows:(1) The soil organic carbon content decreases with increasing depth in Mazongling Natural Conservation Zone. And the vertical difference in different regions is different. The soil organic carbon content is36.8g·kg-1in0~10cm soil layers, the content is26.2g·kg-1in10~20cm soil layers, the content is21.7g·kg-1in20~30cm soil layers. The content decreases with increasing depth in50~100cm layers, but excited fluctuation, a small part of the region appeares second highest value in the50~70cm layers. It is spotted distribution in the horizontal. Using Z-test at0.01level to analysis the difference of the content in vertical and horizontal, it shows that the difference is obvious. The seasonal variation is obviously. The forest soil organic content is highest in winter, the next in autumn, and the lowest in spring and summer(2) There are some factors effecting on organic carbon content, such as topography, vegetation, soil thick, matrix. It exists clear linear relationship between organic carbon content and altitude. The organic carbon content is increasing with elevation. The thicker layers the more stable soil organic carbon content. The thinner layers the greater change. There is obvious difference of organic carbon content under different vegetation. It is lower under bamboo, while it is higher under pine forest. The content of sunny slope is lower than cloudy slope. The soil organic carbon content changes with precipitation and temperature, Especially in20~30cm soil layers.(3) The distribution of the soil organic carbon content is consistent with the density The density has vertical and horizontal difference. The organic carbon density of10cm is from3.58kg·m-2to4.39kg·m-2. The density of20cm is from5.57kg·m-2to6.4kg·m-2. The density of100cm is from25.26kg·m-2to31.16kg·m-2. The forest soil organic carbon density is increasing with altitude. The density is high at vegetation dense point. The organic carbon density in the natural conservation zone is higher than the surrounding zone and national average. The carbon concentrated on surface layers at points that is over1400m, but soil layer is thin. The point that affected great by human is low in organic carbon density.(4) The soil carbon storage is from1.2×105t to1.4×105t in0~10cm soil layers in the natural reservation zone. The storage is from2.3x105t to2.7×105t in0~20cm soil layers, And the storage is from6.9×105t to8.4×105t in0~100cm soil layers. The research region is full and potential of carbon storage. It fixes carbon dioxide3.8×106to4.4×106t in0~10cm soil layers. It is6.9×106to7.6×106t in0~20cm soil layers, and is2.1×107t to2.7×107t in0~100cm soil layers.(5) The forest ecosystem plays an important role in accumulating greenhouse gas, protecting water resource, preventing soil and water dropping out, therefore closing forest, planting trees and decreasing active jamming are essential.
