Low temperature sensitive genic male sterile rice is a reverse photoperiod and temperature sensitive genic male sterile rice germplasm resource.It is reduced male sterile by low temperature and fertility by high temperature. In order to study the fertility inheritance and stability of the low temperature sensitive genic male sterile lines (LTGMS) go543s,3hybrids of go543S and2indica rice M548, M253, a maintainer V20B and their progenies were taken as materials, The segregation frequency of fertility and critical temperature of fertility alteration (CTFA) of the hybrids were studied, the main results are as follows:The F2population of3hybrids, i.e. go543s and M548, M253and V20B, observed one sterile peak and fertile peak, indicating that the sterility of go543s controlled by nuclear gene control, with the modification of many minor genes. The segregation ratio were fit well into1(sterile plant):3(fertile plant), indicating that ferility of go543s is controlled by a pair of recessive major gene.The CTFA for go543s F2hybrids sterility plant were observed segregation, however, the CLFA of most male sterile plant were29.0-30.0C, roughly the same as go543s (29.5℃). In hybrids of go543S/M548and go543s/V20B, CTFA were29.0-30.0℃, the distribution of CTFA plants is in accord with normal distribution. In the hybrid go543s/M253, there is in distribution of double peaks. In the hybrids of go543s/M548, go543s/M253, the distribution curve peak of sterile plants was29.6℃, for hybrid of go543s/V20B, it was29.5℃, roughly closed to that of go543s. A few plants with very low or high CTFA were observed, indicating that genetic background affects the CTFA and the CTFA was controlled by multiple genes.Genetic stability of CTFA for different generation of go543s hybrid sterility plants was very poor. The CTFA of the hybrid offspring were recorded variations F2, F3generation change between the individual number respectively in groups of81.6%,86.8%,85.7%. The majority of individual variation in the range of0-0.5℃. a few of the sterile plant were observed the range of more than2.5℃.We compared the pollen fertility of sterile plants of different generations in the same time period.We find their fertility related to the temperature before heading tol5d-13d. This may be related to the genetic background of hybrid parent.The sterile gene mapping using go543s/M253population, had mapped a SSR molecular markers S45655and sterile gene linkage relationship, the marker is located on chromosome4.
