Soil nutrients and soil organic carbon are important indicators of soil quality and vegetation construction effect. Loess Plateau has undergone large-scale afforestation, but systematic research on soil nutrients and soil organic carbon in this region is not enough. In this study, field survey method is combined with the laboratory analysis to make a quantitative analysis of primary impact factors of Loess soil nutrients and soil organic carbon, and thus to study the impact mechanisms.Principal component analysis (PCA) indicates that key impact factors are, in ordor, soil texture, land cover, human management and terrain. After11years of restoration, artificial forest soil is more acidified than natural forest soil. In0-60cm, artificial forest soil has more total N, total P, and total K than natural forest soil. Two forest models’soil nutrients and soil organic carbon differ more strongly in surface soil, but slightly in deeper soil layers. Soil organic carbon in gully channel, sink hole and gully bottom platform is higher than that in original slope, so is totle K in gully channel and sink hole, as well as total P in slope slow sets. Shade and semi-shade slope have higher soil organic carbon, total N and total P but lower total K than sunny and semi-sunny slope. Midslope has higher soil nutrients and organic carbon than upslope and slope bottom.
