There are more and more twin-tower structure widely applied in the modern architecture,while the research on the structure is little.This paper studies the overall seismic performance of the twin-tower structure and the role of the connection under earthquake excitation through response spectrum analysis and time history analysis with the finite element software SAP2000based on theoretical analysis of the structure.And what’s more,this paper studies the stress development of the connecting structure with the finite element software ABAQUS6.10.Firstly the paper introduces the application and development,composition and classification of the structrure,and then introduces the loaded characteristic and the current research on the twin-tower structure.Secondly the study carries theory analysis and calculation on the twin-tower structure without connection and the twin-tower connected structure based on the introduction of theoretical method and draws base forms.Next the paper researchs on the overall seismic performance of the two structures and the role of the connection under earthquake excitation with SAP2000.And then the paper analyses seismic responses and the stress development of member bar through the modeling of the connecting structure with ABAQUS6.10.In the end,this paper discusses some problems which are not solved in present in the area. The achievement of this paper has certain reference value in the study and design of the twin-tower structure especially the twin-tower connected structure.
