Gears are one of the most common parts in mechanical transmission, which play an important role in translate motion and power in every different ways. Contact surfaces of gear teeth, especially the gear teeth root, bear strong impact force and high alternating stress when it works. Through the stress analysis, we can know that gear tooth root part is one of the most dangerous sections and its stress distribution is very important to the whole gear. So, it is particular important to analyze the stress of gear tooth root part. This paper presents a set of methods for looking for the best stress transition curve. The finite clement optimization design of meshing gear tooth root was carried out by combination theory with simulation and the optimum design of transition curve was drawn out in certain condition. This curve can ensure that the teeth’s maximum stress was reduced to a minimum level, which can significantly reduce the possibility of gear fatigue fracture. It can be applied in the design of and molding grinding tool and relevant process parameters were analyzed, which have important significance to improve the gears’ service life on important sections and promote the research of gear tooth root. The specific contents are as follows:First of all, contact analyses were carried out for Statics and dynamics of more respected full radius gear tooth root among the application of heavy-load gear. Advantages and disadvantages of full radius gear teeth roots were analyzed. Then the3D model with NURBS spline involutes gear transition curve was established and relational date was parameterized. Utilizing these parameters as optimization parameters, the structure optimization design was carried out in ANSYS WORKBENCH. The result obtained was used for molding grinding. So molding grinding tool was designed and the key technology of grinding wheel dresser was solved. The result show that the maximum stress of tooth root are reduced by30%with this method and the stress concentration of meshing parts are greatly improved, which are benefit for the further promotion of gear industry and the use of personalized gears.Considering the realization of machining method of optimizing gears and according to the characteristics of optimized transition curve, Proposed a kind of forming grinding processing methods. And, analyzes the machining process route, forming grinding wheel has been designed too. To solve the still Dresser problem, a three-axis normal trimming technology are proposed, It will be good guiding significance to the future transition complex curves’ processing which will be obtained through optimization method.
