In this article, based on the fact that the structure features of short span arch bridge,causes of structure diseases, and methods of strengthening are widely investigated andsummarized. Rely on the arch stone bridge in the highway reconstruction project at thesection of Shangqiu to Kaifeng in Henan G310line, the causes of diseases, analysis andevaluation of its bearing capacity, structure strengthening methods and effect are all putinto study,which mainly contains are as follows:Rely on the arch stone bridge in the highway reconstruction project at the sectionof Shangqiu to Kaifeng in Henan G310line, the typical diseases of the bridge has beeninvestigated, and the causes are also analyzed.Treat the arch stone bridge which inclined span is6meters as the research object,without considering the structural damage, calculation and analysis of the bearingcapacity and stress state of the bridge structure under loads in different classes havebeen done.According to the technical status and the material weathering of the bridge,the bearing capacity included the damage has been analyzed.Aiming at the crack diseases of arch stone bridge, the reinforcement method ofpastingsteel-plate to the ring has been put forward. And the reinforcement effects arecompared and analyzed with others. Treat the bridge which is pasted steelplate atdifferent spacesin spandrel archas the research object, using ABAQUS3-D model toanalyze, the influences of different gapsbetween reinforcedsteel-plates on the structurestress is discussed. And the calculated results are compared and analyzed with that ofthe original arch bridge without reinforcement, and then the reinforcement effects arealso optimized.
