In geotechnical and underground structure engineering, silt around flood land and lakes often needs foundation treatment. In general, silt distribute in large range, also with thick layer.Silt has the characteristics of high water content, low strength, high amount of compression and mostly acidic. There are many ways of foundation treatment to silt. The traditional cement mixing method requires in alkaline environment so it is better for cement hydration reaction. But the muddy soil has high acidity. So the acidic environment will block or extend the cement hydration reaction time. In this paper, we create a new method which using common medium sand as the additive. Medium sand cooperates with cement fonned as cement mortar soil which could increase the strength of cement-soil pile. The different between additive sand and ordinary additive lime is, lime soil is to change the ph of the soil environment which does not affect cement pile’s body structure, but the cement mortar soil by adding coarse aggregate sand, mixing with soil and cement has changed its internal structure. Sand plays the role of supporting frame in cement-soil’s body which makes the strength of the cement mortar soil stronger than cement-soil. At the same time, benefit from the sand’s large size, there will be more pore around the sand so as to improve cement-soil’s permeability coefficient, which could be helpful for consolidation. This paper discusses the silt soft soil at the north area along river in chaohu using cement mortar soil foundation treatment. Through the laboratory test,we study the cement mortar soil’s physical, mechanical characteristics and permeability coefficient. We study cement mortar soil’s water content, deformation modulus, no lateral restraint compressive strength, triaxial compression strength and the permeability coefficient. The result could provide a reference for the engineering practice.
