At the beginging of development of machinery industry,people used by staticseal,compressing the parts of machine which need seal to each other,and filling thegaps by materials.By development of non-contact seals,especially labyrinthseal.Thanks to manufacting、assembly and carrying,the labyrinth seal is widely uesdin petrochemical、oil-refining、fertilizer、coal、gas and other industries.For a longtime,people keep on doing the research hardly,the summary conclusions are:theperformance of labyrinth seal relies on air loses energy in flow proess;the energyconsumption of power machinery is mainly affected to the leakage.With the rapid ofscience and technology,Traditional researches what depend on test gradually revealeditself for a change.For example,people are lack of labyrinth space、internal flow fieldand pressure.This paper focus on labyrinth seal and piston of reciprocatingcompressors as a research.,improved the theory of labyrinth seal futher,for betterstructure and the localization of compressor.The paper can be listed as follows:1.Review reciprocating compressors and the present of labyrinth seal.2.Design geometic model and CFD model of engineering(the preprocessor isgambit in FLUENT software designs geometic model、FLUENT is model of CFDplatform),simulate internal flow of labyrinth seal.according to the simulation,thedesign parameters of labyrinth can be provided to effective calucations3.Pay attation to simulate internal structure of labyrinth seal,received differentsstructers and characteristics of flow;through analyze the flow field carefully,whichinfluence different structures on leakage characteristics.It reveal the theory oftraditional labyrinth seal,and propose more reasonable structures.4.According to optimized size of labyrinth seal,we can coordinate to proper pistonstrusture,and achieve a better one.
