A food and beverage Co., LTD (A Company for short) is a specialized food production company involved in green food and beverage. Its main productions are grain beverage, herb beverage, functional beverage and et al. After over two decades development, in A Company, the number of production grew from one to ten and above, and the turnover went up to over ten million Yuan a month from several million at the beginning. To satisfy the huge market demand, A Company introduced two international advanced production lines for beverage production and Tatra Pak (Tetra Pak, a type of compound paper package developed by Tetrapak Company for milk and drink) filling. Beverage production, filling all the automation production line. These automatic processes can satisfy the production plan. However, the last process of packing (packing twelve Tetra Paks into one box) reduced the whole process efficiency because the process is manual. And more, because of the low efficiency, productions are overstocked and the normal capital turnover is blocked. And then the company has to face up to the situation of lack in supplement, reduction of competitiveness and improvement in labor intensity. How to improve efficiency and quality with an economical way is new problem that A Company has to deal with.On the background of the above, to meet customer and market demand, to create the largest profit with low costs and wastes, A Company aims to using Industrial Engineering (IE for short) way, learning from the excellent enterprises such as Kelong and Midea.This thesis is set in the package process in A Company. In this context, the thesis introduces the concept and knowledge of basic industrial engineering, the use of the work research, program analysis, motion analysis, stopwatch time study and site management. It conducts a in-depth analysis according to the rationality of manual packing process of Tetra Pak, which including production equipment, processes, personnel allocation, mechanical equipment, work station tool are reasonable, find out the bottleneck factor, namely material composition, order of process, working position setting and material/product transportation. The bottleneck factors of technique and personnel was improved via multiple questioning and analysis by using the principles of motion economy, the four major principles and5W1H analysis bottlenecks, and will break through the bottleneck factors. It will ensure the effective operation of personnel, equipment, materials, information and other resources, and will achieve the target of improving packaging efficiency, saving cost, reducing labor intensity, optimizing the packaging lines, improving the competitiveness objectives.Main contents related: Familiar with the process flow chart of manual packing process of Tetra Pak; Draw the equipment layout of the process of manual packing process of Tetra Pak; Draw the diagram of the layout of the beverage packaging plant; Analyze technology program, site, time and motion of the process of manual packing process; Identify the constraints and suggest improvements according to the results of the analysis.The thesis discussed the improvement scheme of tetrapak manual packing process and the effects expected by the use of planning, design, innovation, and evaluation of IE methods and concepts.It can provide a reference for SMEs to enhance competitiveness.
