In recent years, super high-speed permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM)draw a lot of attention since its advantages of saving space, lighter weight, high powerdensity and so on. First of all, the recent and new development of PMSM and electricspindle and their corresponding technologies among the worldwide were reviewed inthis thesis. Meanwhile the coordinate transformation theory and mathematical models ofPMSM under three different coordinate systems were analyzed. In a variety of differentmotor control strategies, the direct torque control (DTC) was detailed introduced, andthe control algorithm and process were detailed discussed. Secondly, in the hardwarecomposition of PMSM DTC system, calculation and selection of application devices inmain circuit and high-current detection technique based on Hall current transducer werepresented as well. Finally, according to the motor design parameters and electric heatnegative affection, the motor thermal analysis is necessary. The configurations of themotor and size parameters optimization procedure were explained, and in order toenhance the ability of motor’s heat elimination, two-rings theory was proposed in thisthesis.
