With the development of bridge engineering, suspension bridge and cable-stayed bridgemake a paramount role in long-span bridges, considered their structural advantages.Meanwhile, the mechanic property, wind-resistant performance and aesthetic demand oflong-span bridge pylon become prevalent.Based on the structural characteristics of pylon, this paper describes the influence ofwind on pylon, mainly demonstrating researches about static coefficient. Not only does staticcoefficient structural static stability performance, but also indicate connect dynamic stabilityof construction. Additionally, the influence of shielding effect on each pylon in complex pylonbrings uncertainty in static coefficient of it.Considering the numerical calculation by using shielding effect factor and aerodynamiccoefficient, this paper studies the influence of shielding effect on static coefficient of pylon.Through comparing the difference of structure and the results of force measurement test inwind tunnel between two pylon design projects of river-to-sea transportation ships channelbridge in Yangtze river, which is part of Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao bridge, this paperanalyses the different coefficient of the pylons, and gives suggestions to future design. Inorder to improve the static coefficient of construction, section shape can be chosen as acrucial factor, what’s more, avoiding shielding effect can improve it too. In constructionwind-resistant design, the research on shielding effect can be used in providing correction ofwind tunnel test.
