ITER is a large international cooperation project which is beingresearched. Nowadays, ITER is one of the most important way to resolve theproblem of human being’s social energy completely. The goal of the ITERproject is to costruct a Tokamak test fusion reactor of self-sustainingburning,to validate the feasibility of fusion energy science and engineeringand to realize the commercialization of fusion energy ultimately. Cryostat isan important equipment of ITER. It is the outer parts of ITER. The mainfunction of Cryostat is to provide a vacuum environment to avoid excessivethermal load transfer to the magnet system and the thermal shield. Cryostatshell have a range of temperature distribution in the normal operation of theITER. Consider the heat conduction and convection heat transfer both heatexchange pattern, the establishment of the Cryostat shell numerical simulationmodel for heat transfer analysis, numerical simulation using CFD softwareFluent. Cryostat shell temperature distribution, provides a basis and referencefor the subsequent heat transfer optimization and thermal stress analysis.This paper analyzes the heat transfer process of cryostat and consider theeffect of fluid-structure interaction on cryostat temperature distribution. Firstestablish the CAD model of cryostat, then using software Gambit to establishcryostat numerical simulation model of thermal analysis. Meshing numericalsimulation of cryostat and load thermal boundary conditions, the thermalanalysis using software Fluent.Considering the effect of three heat transfer forms on the cryostattemperature distribution,numerical simulation of cryostat using softwareFluent and get each cryostat temperature distribution of heat transfer forms.Considering the real physical environment of cryostat,analyze the cryostatheat transfer and get the temperature distribution of the cryostatshell.Studying the effect of thermal sheild thermal radiation emissivity on thetemperature distribution of cryostat shell, obtain the conclusion thatincreasing radiation emissivity could control range of cryostat temperaturevalues.
