As cars become an essential life tool in people’s lives,security incidents caused bypuncture are also emerging.The tire temperature and pressure monitoring system(TPMS)comes into being.The TPMS module is placed inside the motor vehicle tires,withcharacteristics not easily accessible and has a unique ID code.In order to monitorpeer-to-peer,the automobile manufactures will preset the unique ID code of TPMS into themotor vehicle dashboard terminal when the motor vehicle is produced.But how to update thedashboard terminal ID code efficiently and stablely when the tire or TPMS is damaged needto be replaced is no more complete program.Generally it can be changed manually throughthe CAN bus and the computer terminal in the motor vehicle repair workshop.The operationof this wired mode is cumbersome, inefficient, low degree of automation and lack offlexibility in application.In this paper,the wireless hand-held terminator used to configure TPMS is commissionedby Harbin VITI Electronics Co.,Ltd.Against the characteristics of TPMS inside car tires is noteasily to demolishe,a kind of wireless hand-held terminator is designed through wireless wayto get the tire sensor module ID code and reset the motor vehicle dashboard terminalmonitoring sensor module ID automatically.It is widely used in car assembly plant,motorvehicle repair workshop,vehicle maintenance plant and others. The terminator has strongmarket competitiveness and good market prospects as it can be used stably,efficiently andautomatically to update the dashboard terminator parameters.This paper presents the existing TPMS system work flow and communicationprotocols,etc.Hardware and software design principles of wireless hand-held terminator aredescribed in detail according to the system design requirements,including the main controlsystem design,wireless communication system design,the touch system design,the chargingsystem and power system design.This design uses32-bit Cortex-M3core ARMmicrocontroller as control core.Its fast and efficient data processing capability can take on thesystem data communications and peripheral module requrirement.Wireless communicationsystem includes program selection,design of RF parameters,design of antenna network andsoftware.The paper analyzs a variety of factors which may cause the system error rate and reduce the stability.People can get a good operating experience by TFT LCD display and thetouch operation.This part includes the design of hardware interface,touch screencalibration,the man-machine interface UI and software.The Ni-MH rechargeable battery packcan provide the power to the system repeatly.The paper describes the design of built-incharging system hardware and parameters. A specific test result of charging performance isgave by testing the terminator.This paper describes the overall system software architectureand the underlying module drivers in detail.The implementation of the system is offered at thesame time.The paper offers the proposal firstly which updates the car dashboard terminatorparameters by wireless automaticly.The software of the terminator provides a variety ofmodels to meet many automobile models.Meanwhile,an innovative scheme is proposed thatuse the SD to save the graphical data and FAT file system to display.This method supports thedesign of man-machine interface UI and upgrade flexibly.An improved touch-screencalibration algorithm is proposed to improve the touch operation accuracy and it has a goodapplication result. The terminator can be stabilized in complex electromagnetic environmentwith the design of excellent anti-spike surge.The physical system is tested accordance withGB ISO7673and the paper offers concrete results.The terminator has passed the performancetest and it has been in mass production by Harbin VITI Electronics Co.,Ltd.
