With the rapid development of transportation, kinds of large bridges emerged in recent years. The span record of cable-stayed bridges has been refreshed again and again. Accompanied by the accumulation of experience in engineering, theoretical research about cable-stayed bridges in all aspects has also made rapid progress. However, the common accurate method on cable force optimization is always complex so that it may not be efficient for complicated bridges like steel truss cable-stayed bridges, therefore, a practical calculation method is needed for such bridges. Based on this, related research has been done with the background of two examples. The main work as bellow:1. After the induction and summarization of the present calculation method, a new method based on influence matrix and symmetry principle is proposed. Calculation cable force will be uniform and symmetrical when this method is applied, which makes the secondary adjustment becomes so simple that it can be finished by manual adjusting. In addition, internal force matrix of the discrete unit and programming are not needed in calculation process.2. The proposed method is applied to two steel truss girder cable-stayed Bridges and the calculation results are compared with related literatures. Comparison results show that the method proposed in this paper is reliable.3. Calculations show that the tower and the cable of cable-stayed bridges can be simplified in solution of its rational cable force.4. At the background of a cable-stayed bridge, construction simulation analysis of two scheme is finished and the calculation results are compared. The comparison results illustrate that the reasonable state of a cable-stayed bridge can be achieved through a variety of ways, which reflects the flexibility of cable-stayed bridges.5. A construction control system based on feedback control principle was established and applied to the Yu Jiang bridge. By this method, the closure error were controlled within a proper range.
