Two-phase induction motor in this paper is a further development of the single-phase induction motor, in which starting capacitor and starting resistance are instead by converter to separate the current phase, and the both windings of the two-phase induction motor runs. The two-phase current from converter are sine wave with equal amplitude, and their phase difference is90°, so that the phase of the two windings are separated. Compare with single-phase induction motor, two-phase induction motor is going to have a higher efficiency, a stronger torque and a smaller volume by a right design.The further understanding of two-phase induction motor, which is good for analysis and design of the motor, is strengthened by studying frequency control system of two-phase induction motor. In this paper, the main contents of two-phase induction motor are as follows:According to design specifications of two-phase induction motor in frequency control system, motor structure is determined through analysis of motor magnetic circuit, and according to motor equivalent magnetic circuit calculation principle, electromagnetic calculation program is accomplished in MATLAB, by which preliminary selection of the parameters of the two-phase induction motor are calculated; The model two-phase induction motor is created in MAXWELL of ANSOFT for FEA, to analyse the distributed law of the internal motor further, and research the effect of winding structure to the air-gap magnetic field. Two-phase induction motor operating principle and FEA of the electromagnetic field are combined for two-dimensional transient analysis of motor model to optimize the motor parameters.
