In the analysis of slope stability, Stability analysis can be divided into two steps:First step, To determine the definition of the safety factor, and given the value of the safety factor for any of the sliding surface of the landslide; Second step, repeat the first step to identify the minimum safety factor of sliding surfaces in all possible sliding surface. For the first step has been more mature, for the second step (the most dangerous slip surface search) has achieved some results, many scholars have developed and proposed their own approach. However, these methods exist for their own deficiencies.For the deficiencies of existing methods, combined with global optimization theory, this paper analyzes the general characteristics of the most dangerous slip surface search. Found that the most dangerous slip surface search problem is actually solving the problem of the minimum of the Multimodal Multivariate Functions in the feasible region. Aiming at this problem from the theory of global optimization introduces a general strategy for the problem. Also introduced the commonly used deterministic global optimization algorithm, and analyze the applicability of these methods to the most dangerous slip surface search. And select best applicability of the filled function method to solve the problem of the most dangerous slip surface search. The same time on the basis of the inadequacies of the filled function method, select the cross-function method based on Filled Function thinking as a specific method. And then programmed, Calculate the assessment example. The results show that:assessment of the examples of calculation results with the referee’s answer is basically the same; Practical engineering calculation results are more accurate than the commonly used software calculations. Description of the methods are feasible in theory and in practice.
