Plunge pool located at downstream of dam is an effective measure to protect river bed.The security and stability of the plunge pool is the key to ensure the well-balanced run of the dam. So many researchers are more interested in how to ensure the safety of plunge pool. Based on the model test,the stability of concrete slabs for plunge pools is affected by structure change and it is studied in this dissertation. The main achievements of this dissertation as following:(1) Based on the model test,the differents grounds of the uplifting between the pervious slab and impermeable bottom were studied. At the same time,the relation between the uplifting on floors of plunge pool in different position and previous coefficient is analyzed.(2) The relation between the space integral scales of fluctuating pressure of bed-plate of stilling pound、plate dimensions and larger value of uplift force was found out by checking and analysis on different model test,. That can be as a reference for selecting key protection area of bed-plate of stilling pound.(3) The uplift force changes of the plates after setted the keyway have been measured. Hydrodynamic responses of the bottom plates setted keyway were analyzed and compared detailedly. The results can be as a reference for the application of special construction in engineering.(4) The influence on the uplift force caused by the changes of dimensions of bottom plate was analyzed detailedly through model test of plunge pool with different energy dissipation mode. The aim is to find out the regularity between the changes of bottom plate dimension and uplift force, and explore better method of optimization design of bottom plate.
