Because of it’s unique sandwich structure, ferrocene has better aromaticity, stability, antibacterial, anticancer. Therefore it has a pivotal position in the fieldof medicine. Also, Ferrocene with good donor abilities have attracted muchinterest. The ferrocenyl unit is not only useful for modifying the shape of amolecule but also changing the metal atom, color and polarizability. With itsconsiderable electron density, ferrocene are widely used in the aspect ofphotoelectric.Chalcone belongs to one of the flavonoids, which are widely found in avariety of natural plants.Chalcone compounds are important intermediates inorganic synthesis, and their derivatives have a wide range of biological andpharmacological activity, such as anti-tumor, anti-flagellate, anti-Leishmania,antibacterial, anti-malarial, anti-HIV, anti-platelet aggregation and tyrosinekinase inhibitors. They are widely used in the field of pesticides, the photoelectric field as well as the field of medicine. Many organic synthesis scientistshave much favor on chalcone derivatives because of their superior biologicaland pharmacological activity.Schiff bases have strong coordination ability, excellent bioactivity andother excellent properties, which make them potential drugs and functionalmaterials. They show biological activities including antibacterial antifungal, antidiabetic, antitumor, antiproliferative, anticancer, herbicidal, anticorrosionand anti-inflammatory activities. So they are particularly important in the fieldof medicine, pharmacy, liquid cystal, catalysis, photoelectricity and so on.Moreover, Schiff bases are regarded as privileged ligands due to the>C=N-structure of Schiff bases that can be easy to coordinate with metal ions. Meanwhile metal complexes has better application and properties than schiff base.Four Schiff base ligands have been synthesized by ferrocene, thiophenecar-boxaldehyde, furancarboxaldehyde, semicarbazide and thiosemicarbazide. we have also prepared their28complexes with transition metal Pb、Cu、Co、Ni、Fe、Sn、Cr、Cd.32compounds were characterized by IR、1HNMR、elementalanalysis、and TGA. In the IR spectra of the ligand3410、3250cm-1、3128cm-1、1687cm-1、1582cm-1、1298cm-1、1138cm-1、1104cm-1respectively-NH2-、-NH-、C=O、 C=N-N、 C-N、 N-N、 C=S group absorption band. In the IRspectra of complexes,3400cm-1appear near the O-H peak, the absorption bandof C=O、C=S in1687cm-11104cm-1disappeared,1640cm-1appears the newN-N=C absorption peak,759cm-1appear near the absorption band of the C-S,The absorption band of the C=N-N is located around1550cm-1, Thus it can beconcluded that the structure of compound is correct, And complex speciescontaining water of crystallization, The molar conductivity of the metalcomplexes are in the6-8-1mol-1cm2range, Lower molar conductivity (Λm<50),The antibacterial activity of32ferroence compounds were studied. theantibacterial activity of all the metal complexes have improved thancorresponding Schiff base,and1-ferrocenyl-3-(2-furyl)-propenone semicarbazone Bi complex has the highest antibacterial activity.
