With the deepening of human land use degree, land use pattern has changed a lot. The regional and global environmental problems caused by unreasonable land use ways have become increasingly prominent. Therefore, land use change and its ecological effects have become one of the key regional and global change researches. With the expansion of industrialization and urbanization and the continued growth of population, coupled with other factors such as advances in technology, political and economic policies and changes in values, land use pattern of Linyi has undergone dramatic changes. Combined with previous studies, based on3S technology and remote sensing image, the paper extracted land use/land cover data of the study area during different periods. RS, GIS and landscape approaches were used to quantitatively analyze land use change and its ecological environment effects from1990to2009, which could provide the basis for regional environmental protection and rational development and utilization of land resources and is of important scientific and practical significance for social sustainable development.Follows are conclusions of this research:(1) Using object-oriented method to extract land use information on the base of TM/ETM+and HJ CCD data (30m resolution) could obtain better classification results, which could meet the requirements of land use dynamic monitoring research on regional scale. Studies have shown that the object-oriented classification method have good applicability for medium-resolution remote sensing images. One hand, TM data has rich band information, on the other hand, this method is convenient for image segmentation with DEM, land use, roads and other project information. (2) Great changes have taken place in the quantity and structure of land use in the study area. Forest land, cultivated land, grassland and unused land showed different degrees of reduction, construction land increased a lot and water increased a little. Land use degree continued to deepen.(3) By selecting the appropriate index, landscapes were analyzed. It showed that farmland landscape dominance declined; forest landscape had broken trend; construction land landscape caused shall increase, average patch area had great increase; unused land and grassland landscape had a wide range of narrow. Overall, Landscape presented fragmentation and landscape connectivity strengths decreased in the study area.(4) Land use change and soil erosion had a close coupling relationship. The conversions from construction land to vegetation, the conversions from grassland to cropland, woodland, and the conversions from cropland to woodland have caused soil erosion intensity decreased significantly. Instead, the conversions from woodland to other land types and the conversions from cropland to grassland have caused soil erosion intensity increased.(5) Through the ecological service value and ecological risk calculations, it is found that the conversions between woodland, cultivated land and construction land caused reduces of the total ecosystem service value and the decline of ecosystem services. At the same time there was an upward trend in ecological risk intensity, and high-risk areas gradually become larger.
