Boric acid which is an important raw material in inorganic chemical field is widely used in various branches. Although China is a boron-rich country, limited by the low grade boron ore and preparation process, it is very difficult for domestic industrial boric acid to meet the request of nuclear power industry in terms of purity, crystallinity and particle size. Therefore, considering the matter from whether the development chain of the national industrial, or the economic value, it is of great significance to perform the research on the preparation technology of nuclear grade high-purity boric acid. Based on the traditional industrial boric acid production process, this paper studied on a new preparation technology of nuclear grade high-purity boric acid, discussed effects of the process parameters determined the optimum conditions, and fulfilled feasibility and economic analysis of this new preparation technology. The main contents are given as follows:1. Study on the preparation and purification of the intermediate product of high-purity boric acid. With industrial boric acid as raw materials, the paper discussed the effects of the factors such as decolorant, thermostatic filtration, solid-to-liquid ratio, reaction time and temperature, pH value on purity and crystallization rate of the intermediate product.2. Study on the preparation of high-purity boric acid based on the intermediate product. With the intermediate product as raw materials, the paper discussed the effects of the factors such as solid-to-liquid ratio, reaction temperature, pH value on purity and crystallization rate of boric acid.3. Process optimization and costing about the preparation of nuclear grade high-purity boric acid. With industrial boric acid as raw materials, the paper studied on a new preparation technology of nuclear grade high-purity boric acid, determined the optimum conditions by orthogonal test, and examined mother liquor cycles on product quality. Furthermore, the paper fulfilled the feasibility and economic analysis of this preparation technology, which provided guidance for the technology industrialization.
