Study On The Chip Breaking Technology For Drilling The Difficult To Cut Materials

In modern manufacture, mechanical character of materials in use such as strength, hardness, toughness, and so on, is continuous improving. Of These material, stainless steel, aluminium alloy, high-temperature alloy, titanium alloy etc, are classified difficult to cut materials. Drilling them is not a easy task, the chip is hard to break and remove, because drilling is semiclosed cutting, chip discharge is very difficulty, bring drill hole can’t trouble-free complete. Therefore disposing chip is more important while drilling them. The key of disposing chip is proper chip breaking, my assignment is to study the chip breaking technology for drilling the difficult to cut materials.At first, by reading a great deal of literature, to know the study chip breaking technology status which drill the difficult to cut materials, and analyze the cutting theory, chip formation, chip deformation, these knowledge is taken as the theorial basis of chip breaking. In the third chapter, chip breaker groove is designed on the rake face of drill according to the theory of chip breaking, through chip breaker groove actualize the request of chip break. Because the chip breaking ability of chip breaker groove influenced by cutting-parameter of drilling prominence, but the cutting-parameter of drilling need changed according different condition, therefore it is difficulty to stabilize chip breaking by chip breaker groove. Thus, vibration drilling is necessary in order to stabilize chip breaking, I shall to study vibration drilling at the following chapter. The fourth chapter is chief study the vibration drilling principle and chip breaking condition, according to the former theory, vibration drilling device is designed and manufactured, with which an experiment about vibration drilling difficult to cut materials is made for testing its ability of chip breaking.Finally, enumerate the difficulty and insufficiency which have encountered in study, look forward to the chip breaking technology for drilling difficult to cut materials.
