In our country, the influent has a low ratio of C/N ratio and high SS/BOD5ratioalmost in every Waste Water Treatment Plant. The traditional Primary Settling Tankusually enhance the situation for its long Hydraulic Retention Time having the microbedigesting a lot of the solubility organics.A great amount of the organics discharged before disintegrated, this results in theorganics waste and increases the sludge product. However, the sludge can produce amountof small organics by anaerobic hydrolysis which can qualify as the carbon resource for themicrobe. So we have a challenge: how to use the product of sludge anaerobic hydrolysisas the carbon resource, which can resolve the situation and minus the sludge product. Inrecent years, more and more Waste Water Treatment Plant use the new technique ofHydrolysis—Oxic Process. On amount of our Waste Water Treatment Plants’ situation,we work over the new Reactor of Enhance sludge hydrolysis which can separate theinorganic and organic hydrolysis. At the same time the new reactor has many operationmodes and the effluent is improved ultimately. According to the experiment, the reactor ismuch better than expected:(1) The HRT is invariable if the sludge height, outlet height and influent volumeare same.(2) During the stable operation time, the DO is ranged from0.15mg/L to0.23mg/L,nothing to do with the influent, feeding pattern and sludge heiht.(3) we got the best one: Feeding pattern2(2.5m3/h at the bottom and2.5m3/h at the2m, the sludge3m high and the effluent at5.5m).The influent is:COD (358mg/L), SS(422mg/L), TN(35.6mg/L), TP(7.8mg/L),NH4+-N(32.2mg/L) while the effluent is:COD (113mg/L), SS(36mg/L), TN(30mg/L),TP3.3mg/L), NH4+-N(28.2mg/L); and COD removal ratio91%, SCOD/COD improvalratio53.4%, VFA amount improval ratio74.4%, the BOD5/COD ratio increased from0.38to0.68.. The quality of influent is improved ultimately. In addition, we tested the sludge hydrolysis rate is52.1%while there is a lot ofgranular sludge in the reactor.
