The textile industry is widely developed in China,which produces amass of wastewater containing high concentrations of dyes and seriouslythreatens water environment. The dyeing and printing wastewater is themost serious one of textile industry wastewater, whose management hasbeen focus on the issue studied by experts and scholars. A lot of advancedtechnologies are slowly applied to deal with printing and dyeingwastewater, especially the decolorizing treatment of wastewater. Ozoneoxidation technology is considered to be the most effective andenvironmental process to decolor the wastewater, so it becomes the focusof research at home and abroadOzonation is one of the most important method to decolorizewastewaters. Dyeing wastewater was ozonated at different treatmentconditions, and the treatment mechanism was also analyzed. The resultshow that the optimal conditions to treat1L wastewater with pH12.0were11.05g/m3gaseous ozone concentration and120min period.Chroma andCOD removal percentage could achieve90%and30%respectively whenwastewater was treated directly without any pre-treatment. Better ozonationefficiency could be obtained after15min if the wastewater waspre-treated with the process of “hydrolytic acidification—biological contactoxidation”.
