The extraction, purification, antioxidant and chewable tablet of flavonoids from Cyclocarya paliurus (Batal.) Ijinskaja were researched in this paper. The main results were as follows:Comparing the four extraction methods of total flavonoids from Cyclocarya paliurus, the extraction cellulose enzymatic-aided was the best way for low consumption and highly efficiency. By Response Surface Method, the optimum enzymatic-aided extraction conditions were extraction for32min at41℃and with0.57%cellulose enzyme in pH6.37, and under this condition9.227%yield of the total extracted flavonoids was obtained.Comparing the purification technic of four resins, polyamide is suitable for the purification of the flavonoids from Cyclocarya paliurus under the conditions of this experiment. Its absorption quantity was52.493mg g-1of dry resin and the desorption rate was69.10%. After the purification the total content of flavonoids was38.54%in the sample. Three kinds of yellow powder compounds were isolated and purified from Cyclocarya paliurus using Polyamide and silica gel chromatography. They were flavonoids by identification of HPLC (High Performance Liquid Chromatography) and IR spectra. Compound I was kaempferol and compound II was quercetin.According to studying the antioxidant activities of extractum and three kinds of individual compounds of flavonoid from Cyclocarya paliurus in vitro something come out. The flavonoid from Cyclocarya paliurus was a strong antioxidant, especially reducing capacity and scavenging DPPH, hydroxyl and superoxide anion radical abilities of compound II were stronger than Vc. However, compound I was lower than Vc in reducing capacity and scavenging DPPH and hydroxyl abilities but higher than antioxidant BHT. And Compound I surpassed Vc in scavenging anion radical. The extractum of Cyclocarya paliurus was made into chewable tablets after concentration, drying, grinding, granulation and preforming. One tablet contained about31.4mg flavonoids and its weight was0.84±0.02g.
