The precision of involute gear would affect the accuracy and stationary of gear transmission and the uniformity of the load of the gear. At the same time the precision of the involute gear may also affect the control of noise and so on. So it’s important to control the precision of gear and analyze the error of the gear.Some researches about the measurement of involute gear based on 3001 universal gear measuring machine are done in this paper. What are researched in this paper main include the following contents.(1) Data acquisition board and probe are picked out in order to measure and get the information of gear error. Author analyze the principle of 3001 universal gear measuring machine to select suitable probe, TESA TG 31, to measure and get the information of gear error. Author also analyzes the principle of the measure circuit to select suitable data acquisition board, PCI-9820, to get the information got from the circuit or probe to transmit to the computer.(2) An involute interpolation based on point-by-point comparison is put forward in this paper. In order to measure involute gear Author makes the probe movement along the involute to contract and measure the gear. How to move to make an involute locus is by the way which is put forward by this paper. Author use Matlab to program to simulate and verify this algorithm. The results show that this algorithm is simple and reliable. At the same time this algorithm is also easy to control the precision of the interpolation.(3) The theory and method about Delaunay Triangulation to determine the vector of the measured point is researched. Different weighting factor to determine the surface’s vector and the error result from the vector is researched; at the same time Author put forward a formula to analyze the compensation accuracy. Combined with examples and in the light of the formula Author calculate every kind of error used different weighting factor by Matlab program. Finally Author get the conclusion in the light of the program result.(4)Software which is used to solve the data got by the machine is designed and developed. Author analyzes every kind of error which could affect the transmission performance. Author focuses on introducing tooth profile concave error, pitch error, deviation of Tooth thickness and so on. In accordance with gear measuring theory and Chinese GB, make use of Matlab to program software to check the involute gear.
