A Study On The Chinese Government Regulation Of Food Safety

Because of the emerging food safety incidents in China, the regulation of food safety is concerned again. For a long time, there is no uniform understanding about the regulation which by government or by market in academia and practice area. Therefore, it is a topic that who should to be responsible for food safety regulation. For the traditional view, government is the main part of the food safety regulation. On this basis, that we reform the food safety regulatory is also accordance with the Administrative supervision. From the perspective of government theory, government departments are just one of the main authoritative governance. Food safety regulation needs more emphasis. In this paper, by analyzing the present situation and the domestic food safety regulatory issues, I think the main part of the food safety regulation is still the government. This conclusion is based on domestic actual situation and the particularity of the food safety issues. Then by drawing the experience of the United States and the European Union, combined with domestic actual conditions, I put forward the measures and recommendations of the government food safety regulation in the new background.
