China is known as the archives compilation and research of tradition, in the new period the development of archives cause and higher education in our country, bringing the opportunities and conditions on the university archives compilation and research. University archives and research is not only a routine work as the accomplishment of archives work,service universities development, but also is a necessary work as the heritage of human civilization, promoting the archives information resource sharing. At present, large-scale activities such as anniversary of the founding of a school, university's new campus construction, archives compilation played an important role in the preparation and development, is also to a great extent promoted the development of archives compilation and research. Yunnan University has nearly a hundred years of histories, the upcoming ninety-birthday, archives compilation and research is essential.Since80's of last century, our country university archives compilation and research has made great progress, achieved some success, but there are also some places to be improved and perfected. With the existing research results, only a certain number of archivists in colleges and universities have discussed, the content focused on in the problem and countermeasure of archives compilation and research, system, comprehensive ground undertakes deep discussion is not much, and these research results somewhat show fragmented,repeated.In this paper, with more than20years our country university compilation and research work research and current practice as the starting point, a systematic study of the new period of our country university compilation and research work on the basis of theoretical knowledge. The current academia about university compilation and research is limit, only use the archives compilation science, university archives work, knowledge, attempts to summarize on the archives compilation and research with teaching, conditioned, culture and characteristics such as creative compilation activities, initiative selected refereed archival material, service initiative, diversity using methods.University archives compilation and research work is a practical work, this paper discusses in theory, focuses on the study of practice. On the problems in the current university compilation and research, proposed to countermeasures and measure such as the establishment of evaluation index of university compilation and research, establish excellent doctoral, master's thesis database, establish compilation database.
