With the development of information network technology and communication facilities, the scale of the computer system and communications equipment becomes more and more large, many government departments and enterprises equip their own computer network room, the safety of computer room is related to many of the normal work and becomes more and more important. Therefore, how to effectively prevent the computer room equipment failure, how to monitor the environment variables of the computer room effectively and send the information to user in time is the point of design a remote monitoring system.The article analyses and researches the development of domestic and foreign computer room monitoring the status, designing a portable infrared video surveillance system. Using ARM9the S3C2440chip as the processor, the embedded microprocessor is highly integrated, low power consumption, small size, system miniaturization, and enhance the systems mobile capability; Using an infrared camera for video image collection, infrared camera can induce light sensor automatically when you start in the low-light infrared light is able to realize the24-hour monitoring; Using MC35i GPRS module for alarm messaging and wireless data transmission GPRS network covers a wide range of transmission performance, the effective data transmission.The paper designs the engine room monitoring system based on GPRS and infrared video of the embedded Linux, the main work includes:(1) Through the analysis of system requirements, access to large amounts of relevant information, complete the structures of the system development environment, the main work is Arm+Linux cross-development environment to build the boot loader implementation, compilation and configuration of the Linux kernel and root file system production;(2) The paper designs the monitoring terminal hardware circuit, including the various parts of component selection and GPRS communications, image acquisition, compression, sensor module circuit design; (3) The paper achieves the capture and compression of video images and video data transmission, including the design of image acquisition and transfer program;(4) The paper designs GPRS communication module procedures, including GPRS short message sending and GPRS wireless data transmission procedures;(5) The paper achieves graphical interface to display and control, including the installation of Qt4applications, Qt ported to the development board, monitor, terminal and control center graphical interface design;(6) The paper designs trigger monitor mode when a sensor to monitor the abnormal start the GPRS module sends an alarm message, effectively reducing the workload and operating costs of the system.
