With development of economy and automobile industry, the automobile possessive quantity increased rapidly in our country, urban traffic issue is becoming grave. In this situation, the contradiction between vehicles and road became especially predominant. As the effective means of solving this problem, intelligent traffic has been widely accepted. People pay more attention to cooperative vehicle infrastructure system which is an important development direction of intelligent traffic.The cooperative vehicle infrastructure system which is the use of advanceed wireless communications and microelectronic technology belongs to the intelligent traffic system. It improves traffic efficiency and travel safety by information sharing and intelligent collaboration between vehicle and road. As an important part in cooperative vehicle infrastructure system the intelligent roadside system needs further investigation. This paper has studied the intelligent roadside system on the basis of Existing research results.lt can be summarized as follows.Firstly, according to the specific needs of cooperative vehicle infrastructure, the communication network of the intelligent roadside system is designed. At the same time, use of the wireless sensor network technology and ZigBee technology, the network is divided into three layers, given the layers of networking solutions, and OPNET simulation.Secondly, use of the binary sensing model and linear model, the communication network node deployment problem is changed into simple computational geometry problem on the basis of three assumptions. Then the formula which is complete coverage of connected nodes required for at least is obtained, provides a theoretical basis for the linear network node deployment.Thirdly, the hardware using modular design concept, with the microprocessor8051F121and RF chip CC2430as the core, processor module, wireless communication module, power supply module, and serial port module are designed. In software, use of ZigBee primitive, the information flow which is the communication network is designed. And use of the OSAL event rotation mechanism, the single node control program is designed,Finally, Experimental platform are established, and the experiment of the system we developed is done.
